Llanelli Scarlets have strengthened their back row ahead of the new season by signing number eight Andy Powell. The Wales A player has been training at Stradey Park since being released by French club Beziers last December.
Powell had his contract with Beziers cancelled by mutual consent just five months after signing for them, after problems with the language and culture.
Interest from Zurich Premiership sides Leicester - where Powell played at the end of last season - and Bath failed to materialise.
"I wanted to get back to Wales, now I have to re-establish myself, get some match fitness and go from there," Powell told BBC Sport Wales.
"I'm a stronger and wiser player now than when I first burst onto the scene." Scarlets coach Gareth Jenkins was delighted with his new signing.
"Andy's been working with us through June and July and has created the right impression," said Jenkins.
"He's potentially an international player, but his choice now was paramount.
"Andy's had too many clubs in a short period of time, he needs stability and to develop loyalty to his new club."
