Wales captain Colin Charvis has completed his expected move to French second-division outfit Tarbes. The 30-year-old back-row forward flew to the Pyrenees club on Tuesday and will train with his new side this week.
Charvis' contract is thought to take him through to the end of the season when he has expressed the hope that he will be able to find a contract with one of the Welsh provincial sides.
The 64-cap player has also insisted that his international career remains very much alive and says that the Wales management team have spoken with his new club with regard to his fitness situation.

''The standard is pretty good in the French second division," Charvis told the South Wales Evening Post. "Around six of their clubs probably would have been able to compete in our top flight last year. "Andrew Hore (Wales' conditioning coach) has spoken to Tarbes to make sure everything is ok as far as my fitness goes.''
Charvis remains philosophical about his inability to land a suitable playing contract in Wales.
''The situation is that when talks broke down with the Ospreys the other regions had pretty much filled their squads.
"I don't know what the future will hold, but I am not ruling out a return.
''What happened was that close to half the professional players in Wales lost their jobs after the Welsh game went provincial so I am by no means the worst off."
