Beattie continues the exodus from Bristol |
Bristol and Scotland back-row man Ross Beattie has completed his move to Gwent Dragons after passing a medical. The new Welsh regional side have been in talks with the 25-year-old for some months, but he has been troubled by an achilles heel problem.
"We are delighted that Ross has put pen to paper, he is a quality player," said Dragons coach Mike Ruddock.
Beattie continues the big-name exodus from Bristol following last season's relegation from the Zurich Premiership.
The Dragons have already profited from the Shoguns' woes by recruiting another back-row man, Rhys Oakley, who is set to win his first Wales cap in Saturday's Test against Ireland. Beattie made his Scotland debut in 2000 and has since won five caps, the last of them coming in March's Six Nations win over Italy.
