Pontypridd-Bridgend had no name at their official launch |
The new Pontypridd-Bridgend regional side have finally settled on their name for next season. Celtic Warriors will be announced as the official moniker later this week.
The region has already tried to name itself RCT Ravens, only to see that name ditched in the face of furious protests from Pontypridd fans.
They also hoped to go with Crusaders, but it was feared that the New Zealand Super 12 outfit of that name could take issue with the decision.

Such indecision meant that the new region made its official launch at the end of last month without a name to present to the public.
The farcical situation contributed to Leighton Samuel's decision to stand down as chairman of the region.
When Celtic Warriors is officially confirmed, it will leave Neath-Swansea as the only one of the new regional sides yet to announce its title.
It is widely expected that the west Glamorgan team will go with the name Neath-Swansea Ospreys.
