Scotland head coach Andy Robinson was once again left frustrated by carelessness following the 24-6 Six Nations defeat by Wales at Murrayfield. A week after bemoaning mistakes in the defeat in France, Robinson said of the loss to Wales: "We made too many errors particularly in that first 20 minutes. "The guys are hurting pretty hard. Everybody's disappointed. "That is unacceptable, what happened today. We've gone back a couple of steps today." The Welsh built up a 16-point lead before having both Bradley Davies and Lee Byrne sin-binned. But all Scotland could muster from their period of having a two-man advantage was a solitary Dan Parks penalty. "When they had 13 men we didn't take our chances," said Robinson, who earlier in the week extended his deal with Scottish Rugby until 2015. | They grew in confidence, they grew in their physicality and ended up deserved winners |
"We had enough ball in the opposition 22 to get those chances. "We knocked on a couple of balls and in the second half as well at 16-6. "Wales had opportunities, probably not as many as us, but they took them. "They grew in confidence, they grew in their physicality and ended up deserved winners." As well as failing to convert chances, Robinson admits Scotland have to improve at the scrum. "I thought Moray Low did well when he came on (at prop). That's an area we need to have greater work on." On the injury front, Hugo Southwell was withdrawn during the first half, with Scotland next in action in two weeks' time. "Hugo's had stitches. He got a boot to the cheek," added Robinson. "There will be bumps and bruises."
