Ian McLauchlan will take up his new post in June
Ian McLauchlan will be the next president of the Scottish Rugby Union. The 68-year-old McLauchlan, known as Mighty Mouse, was nominated unopposed by Scotland's rugby clubs. "My aim will be to strengthen rugby in Scotland and assist in any way I can to help the clubs, the pro-teams and the national team to build," he said. Former prop McLauchlan captained Scotland 19 times, winning 43 caps and was part of the British and Irish Lions Test series successes in 1971 and 1974. He will take up his post at Scottish Rugby's annual general meeting at the end of June.
