Scotland fell at the quarter-finals stage of the plate event at the Hong Kong Sevens after losing 29-0 to Tonga.

Tonga established a 17-0 half-time lead with three tries, one converted, before finishing with two further tries and a conversion in the second period.

Scotland had progressed after winning two out of their three Pool F matches.

They narrowly beat the USA and scraped past the West Indies, but lost to Kenya, which knocked them out of the main cup competition.
