MacLeod has been cleared of doping for a second time
Glasgow Warriors forward Johnnie Beattie says all Scotland players are behind Scott MacLeod, who was cleared of a doping charge this week.
MacLeod was banned after tests revealed high levels of testosterone, which was later attributed to alcohol intake.
"Scott's a nice big guy and I think he's been unlucky - especially for it to happen to him twice," said Beattie.
"But we're fully behind him as he hasn't done anything wrong, and he's just been really unfortunate."
Scarlets lock MacLeod was suspended in October from competitive action after a urine sample he supplied in January showed higher-than-permitted levels of testosterone.
The ban was overturned after investigators accepted his explanation that the testosterone levels in his body had been temporarily boosted after he consumed alcohol.
However, the World Anti-Doping Agency are waiting for a written copy of the UK Sport decision to clear MacLeod and will determine whether it is in compliance with their code.
It is the second time MacLeod had been cleared of doping allegations.
In February, the Scotland international was cleared of failing a doping test after he had taken an asthma medicine without having the obtained the necessary permission.
"It is commonplace after games for people pitch up at your house at 0630 on a Monday or Tuesday morning," added Beattie.
"It's going to raise some blips, as it has done in Scott's case.
"With him it was down to the natural levels amount of adrenaline he produces, which have obviously been raised by him having couple of drinks.
"You have to be aware of your own body and what you put in it.
"These things don't help, but Scott knows now, so he'll just be more careful in future.
"It's good that his name's been cleared and everything's okay for him now."
