Evans started only one Premiership game this season |
Glasgow Warriors have announced the signing of England under-21 player Thom Evans from London Wasps. "I'm really looking forward to playing with Glasgow," said Evans.
"Sean Lineen sounds very positive and with him as head coach and this group of players starting the new season afresh, I'm keen to play.
"I like their style of rugby, so it's a great opportunity for me," added the winger/fullback who made his u-21 debut earlier this year against Scotland.
Evans, whose maternal grandfather Fred Thom was born in Glasgow, is noted for his pace having been a 100m and 200m sprinter at England Schools level.
He made a perfect start against the Scots in the shadow six nations tournament, scoring two tries.
The former Wasp had a career in music prior to taking up rugby full time as a member of pop band Twen2y4Se7en.
He toured with the band as a support act with McFly, Peter Andre and Westlife throughout 2004.
Evans will be in Glasgow to join the Warriors for summer pre-season training.
