Kerr has won 29 Scotland caps |
Scotland prop Gavin Kerr will leave Leeds at the end of the season to join Border Reivers on a three-year deal. The 28-year-old, capped 29 times, began his career with Berwick and also played for Borders outfit Jed-Forest.
Kerr said: "The Reivers have a great coaching set-up. Steve Bates has brought a lot and I know George Graham and Alan Tait very well from Scotland.
"My wife and I are expecting a baby and I grew up in Berwick, so my family ties are also in the Borders."
Borders head coach Bates insists the signing underlines the ambition of the professional team.
He said: "Gavin is a major signing for us having made a great contribution to the success of Scotland this season.
"It shows that we have serious intentions of continuing to be a competitive side next season and beyond."
