Ross Ford was injured at Firhill Stadium |
Border Reivers hooker Ross Ford is likely to miss eight weeks of action as he recovers from knee ligament damage. A surgeon has drained fluid from the knee he injured in Celtic League action on Friday and he will now begin a period of intensive physiotherapy.
Ford, who played in the closing stages of Scotland's Calcutta Cup win over England, was stretchered off after just two minutes against Glasgow.
The 21-year-old landed awkwardly in a challenge during Reivers' win.
Glasgow's Scott Lawson has taken Ford's place in the Scotland squad for Saturday's encounter with Ireland in Dublin.
