Edinburgh Gunners marked Todd Blackadder's first match as coach with a clinical demolition job on Glasgow Warriors to top the Celtic League. Under-strength Glasgow's misery was compounded by stand-off Calvin Howarth suffering a suspected broken leg.
Glasgow scored the first try through Scott Lawson, but Gunners hit back thanks to Chris Paterson's kicking and tries by Scott Murray and Rory Lawson.
Andy Craig replied for Glasgow before Rob Dewey touched down for Edinburgh.
Glasgow had been weakened by a throat and stomach virus that had swept through their squad.
Coach Hugh Campbell was forced to field a makeshift pack and his side went behind within just three minutes after Paterson thumped over a 45-metre penalty.
But Lawson's quick throw to Gregor Hayter deceived Edinburgh and the Test hooker took the return to give Glasgow the first try.
Dan Parks' conversion attempt struck the upright and Edinburgh were back in front after a Paterson penalty and drop goal.
Veteran Scotland lock Murray galloped through after a slick one-two with flanker Simon Cross, with Paterson adding the conversion.
Edinburgh scrum-half Lawson scampered to the try line from almost 60 metres and Paterson landed another great kick to put the capital side firmly in control by the break.
Warriors gave themselves hope of a late revival when Graeme Morrison burst through a gap before releasing Craig to score 12 minutes from the end, with Parks converting.
But centre Dewey killed off the game by muscling over after fine work by Ally Hogg.
The game was finished as a contest by the time Howarth was stretchered off in the dying seconds and sent to hospital for a scan on his injured leg.
