Aisea Havili's withdrawal leaves Tonga understrength on the wing

Havili was unhappy at being asked to pay his own way to join up with the squad in Australia and has resisted the Warriors' attempts to persuade him to go.

However, club-mate Sililo Martens has made the trip and will face some familiar faces in the pool stage as Tonga are in Wales' group in the tournament.

Scrum-half Martens, who took part in Bridgend's successful Welsh Premiership championship campaign last season, will give the squad experience behind the scrum.

Havili's decision leaves Tonga coach Jim Love understaffed in the wing positions, as he was forced to omit rugby league wingers Lesley Vainikolo and Tevita Vaikona because of their club commitments.
