Rossouw is a powerful ball carrier

Danie Rossouw comes in at flanker for Joe van Niekerk, who is out of the tournament after injuring his knee.

Fly-half Derick Hougaard, just 20, keeps the number 10 shirt ahead of Louis Koen, who is on the bench.

"The selection is our strongest possible and is close to the teams we fielded against England and Samoa," said Springbok coach Rudolph Straeuli.

He added: "Danie Rossouw was the natural replacement at seven for Joe van Niekerk and brings an exciting dimension to the position.

"Our preparations have gone well this week, the guys have worked hard and I am confident that this squad is capable of putting in a strong performance."

The Springboks will field seven of the players who lost 19-11 to the All Blacks when they last met, in August.

But South African captain Corne Krige said recent matches against New Zealand - who have won the past six contests between the two countries - will not count for much.

"This is a big game for both teams," said Krige. "It is important that we play the game we want to play and focus on our strengths.

"Regardless of previous performances at this event, good or bad, there is no doubt that both teams will raise the level of play, which is what we expect from the All Blacks."

And lock Victor Matfield believes the Springboks can leave their opponents guessing right up until the last moment.

"If you take the England game and the Samoa game it was two different game plans we played and we can go out on Saturday and play any one of the two," he said.

"It's just up to us to decide which one we want to play. We've got a lot of players that can come on and put more pressure on."
