 Fly-half Koen is a world-class goal kicker |
South Africa have been boosted by the news that Louis Koen and Neil de Kock will be fit to play in the World Cup. Both players were injured in the Springboks' final warm-up match, with fly-half Koen suffering a sprained ankle and De Kock a chest injury.
There had been concerns they would have to pull out but both players came through fitness tests on Thursday.
The South African World Cup squad assembled in Johannesburg on Thursday and will fly out to Australia on Saturday evening.
"The guys have got a busy few days in Johannesburg before departure," said Rudolf Straeuli.
"But their work ethic is fantastic and they are focused on performing well at the Rugby World Cup."
