Canada struggled to come to grips with New Zealand |
Canada captain Ryan Banks tipped New Zealand to win the World Cup after his second-string side succumbed 68-6 to the All Blacks. New Zealand ran in a total of 10 tries - four courtesy of wing Mils Muliaina - for what proved an easy win.
And Banks said: "I feel they've got to be the favourites. There's some impressive speed out there."
Canada had pushed their hotly tipped rivals for much of the game's early exchanges.
But after conceding the game's first points after 17 minutes, they rarely looked capable of troubling New Zealand's defence.
Banks added: "Obviously our guys went out there knowing we were going to be in for a real tough match but we showed a lot of heart.
"We got tired and they had too much pace on the outside and that's what makes them one of the best teams in the world.
"We were happy we shut them down in the midfield and we did a lot of good things tonight that were positive for us."
