Gregan paid tribute to the entire Wallabies squad

The Wallabies overturned the form book by stifling the All Blacks from the start of the game to earn a meeting with England or France.

But Gregan insisted any celebrations would be premature.

"We have the opportunity to play for the ultimate prize, which is next week, so we can't get too carried away," he said.

Both sides scored a try apiece - Australia through Stirling Mortlock and New Zealand via captain Reuben Thorne.

But the boot of Elton Flatley kept the defending champions clear of the All Blacks throughout the night.

Afterwards, Gregan refused to focus on individuals.

He said: "It was a massive performance from everyone and it needed to be. We needed to use everyone in the 22 because we were playing the world's best.

"We had to make them work defensively. It didn't work initially but it did eventually as they started to fatigue.

"We stuck to our game plan and everyone believed in it.

"Semi-finals are about pressure. We handled that tonight."

Australia had been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism prior to their win over the All Blacks.

But Gregan countered: "There's always going to be criticism in sport. The most important thing is the belief within the team, it's very strong."

Gregan's half-back partner Stephen Larkham was a constant threat to New Zealand.

"We identified they might be weak up the middle," the fly-half said.

"We made less errors than in previous weeks and we just want to keep improving."
