The Pumas lost out 24-8 in the opening game of the World Cup against defending champions Australia after a string of basic errors.

But on Tuesday they eased their way past their African opponents with a 10-try tally, profiting from some much improved forward play.

And Fernandez Miranda, standing in as skipper for the rested Agustin Pichot, said: "We got back to basics.

"Now we must first focus on the Romania game before think of Ireland."

Argentina had made a total of 14 changes for the game, wing Diego Albanese the only survivor from the opening tie against the Wallabies.

But they rarely looked trouble, Martin Gaitan leading the way with a hat-trick and Pablo Bouza adding a brace.

The result was enough to move them top of Pool A with five points from two games.

And Pumas coach Marcelo Loffreda believes his side now have every chance of qualifying for the quarter-final stages.

Loffreda said: "After recording such a big win, I really believe we are back on track again.

"We were disappointed with the way we played against Australia, so although Namibia are not the same kind of opposition, it was good that we got closer to reaching our potential.

"By the end we were completely controlling the set pieces, which was one of the main areas of concern last Friday."
