New Zealand have surpassed England as the number one side in the world in the latest International Rugby Board rankings. England, meanwhile, have slipped back to second place after a lacklustre World Cup campaign to date.
France, who have shone throughout the tournament to date, have jumped up to third place overall in the latest standings unveiled on Monday.
As a result, Australia slip to fourth while South Africa are fifth.
Wales have to make do with eighth place - one spot behind Argentina - despite strong performances against both New Zealand and England.
