An angry Moffett says there is more to rugby than money

Under the current agreement, Wales, Scotland and Ireland will each stage three pool games, with a quarter-final to be held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

But Australian Rugby Union chief O'Neill says all the matches should be stage in France.

"John O'Neill should keep his nose out of other people's business," Moffett, the chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union, told the Western Mail newspaper.

"The IRB overwhelmingly awarded the 2007 World Cup to France on the basis that they would co-host it with the Celtic nations.

"The thought of the French merely buying their way out of the binding commitment they have to Wales following the 1999 tournament, and telling the Scots and the Irish to take a hike, is laughable.

"There is more to rugby than money, but John O'Neill doesn't seem to understand that.

"When you look at the World Cup in Australia and compare it to what will happen to 2007, the distances to be travelled between the Celtic nations and France will be less than from venue to venue in Australia."
