Fanuatanu left the field on crutches |
Samoa wing Ron Fanuatanu will miss the rest of the World Cup with a knee injury. The explosive 21-year-old sustained the injury in the 46-9 win over Georgia on Sunday, which lifted the Pacific Islanders to the top of Pool C.
"He has ruptured ligaments in his right knee and he will be out for six months," said Samoa coach John Boe.
Boe has yet to decide on a replacement.
Samoa are England's next opponents on Sunday in Melbourne.
They conclude their pool matches against South Africa in Brisbane, which is likely to decide the group runner-up.
