Argentina's pack was too strong for Romania |
Argentina coach Marcelo Loffreda singled out the Pumas' scrum for praise after his side picked up a convincing 50-3 win over Romania. The south Americans ran in a total of seven tries in an often error-strewn contest, two of them coming from the base of their pack.
Romania's forwards, meanwhile, failed to keep up with their heavier and more experienced rivals.
And Loffreda said: "It was a hard game, but we knew that Romania had played only four days ago against Australia and our advantage was the scrum and our forwards and we knew they were really tired."
Argentina's major problem area, however, was the line-out where hooker Mario Ledesma continually struggled to find his jumpers.
But Loffreda preferred to focus on the team's positives at Sydney's Aussie Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Pumas boss added: "We had good retention of the ball and the time Romania had the ball was minimal.
"We had a good defensive organisation which restricted Romania's possession."
