Boe says Samoa will have a go at England next Sunday |
Samoa coach John Boe was in ebullient mood as he looked ahead to the big match with England next Sunday. Samoa will go into the match on top of Pool C, a point ahead of England, after thrashing minnows Georgia on Sunday.
The Samoans were not at their fluid best as they disposed of the Eastern European side 46-9, but Boe was delighted to be looking down on England in the group table.
"They should stop the tournament now!" said Boe.
"Clearly, the big test is next weekend.
"It is a wonderful opportunity for us to play a team like England, but we keep saying that we are not here to make up the numbers. We are going to attack and have a go.
"Georgia played extremely well and took the game to us, and I would like to think that we took a step up, but we will have to take another five or six steps up next Sunday.
"We know that it is going to be an enormous challenge, but we like challenges, and we are looking forward to it."
Georgia are making their first appearance in the World Cup finals and coach Claude Saurel was determined to take a positive view.
"The Samoan team was very good, and we made too many mistakes, but just being involved with these games is a treasured experience for us and we will get better," he said.
