Worcester Warriors switch three games to Friday

Worcester will hope for big Friday night crowds at Sixways

Worcester Warriors will stage three Friday night games as they try to attract the fans to Championship rugby.

Bristol, Cornish Pirates and Nottingham will all play at Sixways on Friday evenings which have traditionally drawn bigger gates.

"Friday night games at Sixways are always special," said the club's general manager Charlie Little.

"They always produce a great atmosphere and a different match-day experience for our supporters."

He added: "It also allows supporters that play for local rugby teams on Saturday afternoon to watch the Warriors in action.

Worcester have also moved home fixtures with Plymouth Albion, Esher and London Welsh forward to 1230 GMT kick-offs to avoid clashing with England internationals.

"Saturday remains our established day for rugby, "says Little.

"The regular league season on home soil comes to an end early in February and so we have taken the opportunity to turn October into a really special month of evening games that we hope our supporters will get behind."
