England boss Johnson at Sixways

Martin Johnson
Martin Johnson is yet to pick any Warriors players

New England rugby manager Martin Johnson will be at Sixways on Wednesday to run the rule over the Worcester Warriors squad.

As part of Johnson's new regime, he will be visiting all the top clubs - and that is something Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock has welcomed.

"Martin has been proactive enough to ask to meet all the directors of rugby which I think is good," said Ruddock.

"I've asked him to one of our sessions, and see the players in action."

Ruddock told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "Some of our lads will have a bit to prove as we didn't have any players in the England side or the Saxons squad, so they have a chance to impress.

"Hopefully he'll be asking about a few of the guys off the back of that."

Worcester have not had a player in an England squad since skipper Pat Sanderson was picked for last summer's South African tour. But two of the club's promising youngsters, winger Miles Benjamin and flanker Matthew Cox, were part of the England Under-20 squad that got to last month's final of the IRB Junior World Championships in Wales.
