Alun Carter was a long-term fixture within the Wales set-up |
Worcester have signed former Wales international Alun Carter to become the new team manager at Sixways Stadium. Carter, head of match analysis for the Wales national team from 1998 to 2007, will take over from the retiring Tony Boddy for the 2008-09 season. He made 144 appearances as flanker for Newport and was capped twice at senior level in the 1991 Five Nations. Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock said: "Alun has demonstrated a very conscientious and methodical style." Ruddock added: "We are sure that he can now bring his experiences to the table and will help the Warriors move up to the next level. "We would like to thank Tony for his excellent contribution and wish to extend our best wishes to him and his wife and family for the future."
