Rory Best says Ulster missed chances against Stade Francais |
Skipper Rory Best pointed to missed chances as Ulster fell 26-10 at home to Stade Francais in their opening Heineken Cup game at Ravenhill. "When you get half chances against top teams you have to take them but we missed some early on," said Best. "It was tough because they have a great bunch of forwards and they really came at us but we handled them well. "Despite losing, our enthusiasm and intensity was definitely a step up from the league win over Edinburgh." Tries from Guillaume Bousses and Dimitri Szarzewski alongside two wonderfully
struck long-range drop goals from Juan Martin Hernandez and Lionel Beauxis
gave Stade their first win in five atempts at Ravenhill. Their coach Ewen McKenzie said: "We came here with history against us, and it was
always going to be a challenge to turn that around. "I told the players before
the game to go out and make history, and they did that."
