Ulster have made two changes for Saturday's Heineken Cup clash against the Llanelli Scarlets at Ravenhill.

Paul Steinmetz starts at inside centre with Kevin Maggs returning to the bench and Kieran Campbell replaces Issac Boss at scrum-half.

The Scarlets have sprung a selection shock by naming youngster Morgan Stoddart at full-back.

With Barry Davies injured and Ceiron Thomas failing to convince at 15, the 22-year-old gets his chance.

Stoddart signed a regional deal from Pontypridd RFC in the summer, and has been in outstanding form for Llanelli RFC since recovering from a broken leg.

"Morgan deserves his chance," said Scarlets director of rugby Phil Davies.

It's a big step up

Morgan Stoddart

"He's been in great form for the semi-pro side. He's strong and elusive and offers us something different."

Stoddart, who has only played 25 minutes for the regional side, added: "It's a big step up but it's a challenge I can't wait for, hopefully I can rise to the occasion."

The west Wales side, who are again without the injured Inoke Afeaki, top pool five with 18 points, but have not won a game since the stunning 34-41 victory at Toulouse on 16 December.

Ulster are second in the group with 10 points and still have hopes of pipping the Scarlets to top spot.

Boss (shoulder) and full-back Bryn Cunningham (back) are named on the replacements bench but both are unlikely to be fit in time for the game.

The Ulster bench has 10 players from which only seven will be selected.
