 Saint-Andre guided Sale to Premiership honours last season |
Sale Sharks director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre and fly-half Charlie Hodgson have pledged their long-term futures to the club. Saint-Andre, who was tipped as a possible successor to France coach Bernard Laporte, has signed a new deal until 2010.
Sale's head coach Kingsley Jones has secured a similar deal.
England and Lions international Hodgson, 25, will remain at Edgeley Park until 2011.
Saint-Andre joined the club in March 2004 and was due to be out of contract at the end of the current season.
His decision to stay at the club effectively rules him out of the reckoning to replace Laporte, who will step down after next year's World Cup.
"Stability is very important in a successful team," Saint-Andre told a news conference.
"It was important that I pledged my future because we have another eight or nine players out of contract."
Hodgson admitted it was an easy decision to sign his new four-year deal.
"Sale gave me my opportunity in the first place and I'm a very loyal person. It was never really in my mind to leave the club," he said.
Meanwhile, hooker Andy Titterrell made a winning return to action after neck surgery for Sale's A team on Monday night.
The England international played at flanker for the first 20 minutes of the game and 12 minutes after the break in the 41-20 win over Northampton Wanderers.
