James Hook has made a successful move from fly-half to inside centre. |
Wales star James Hook says he will make a decision on his Ospreys future after the autumn internationals in November. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to French club Perpignan and his Ospreys deal runs out in May. "I will probably make a decision [on my future] over the next month or two," the centre revealed. "My goal was to get back on the pitch and get fit hopefully for the autumn internationals and make a decision after that." Hook, the versatile British and Irish Lions back, played through the pain barrier for much of last season, but pulled out of Wales' two-Test tour of New Zealand last month to undergo shoulder surgery. Since recovering from the operation in the summer Hook has made two Ospreys appearances. "I was happy to get 20 minutes against the Scarlets and a full game against Toulon so the more I play the match fitness will be up there," insisted the British & Irish Lion. Now he he is intent on the Ospreys bouncing back from their opening Heineken Cup defeat in Toulon where they went down 19-14. And Hook says the Ospreys are determined to bounce back at home against in-form London Irish, who enjoyed a 23-17 victory over Munster. "The boys are frustrated after that loss especially after leading for long periods of the second half, and three minutes from the end leaking a try," added Hook. "We have to get over that because Friday is just [as] big a test. | 606: DEBATE |
"We are not going to dwell too much [on Toulon]. It is a massive game Friday and we need a win and we need the crowd to get behind us. "London Irish are top of the Premiership and have got some great individuals. They like to throw it about which will hopefully suit us but we are expecting a totally different game to last week. "We have got to win our home games to try and qualify, probably more so in this group because there are quality teams in Europe. "The bonus point would be great. First and foremost we will have to focus on the win and anything else would be a bonus."
