Prop Duncan Jones signs new Ospreys contract

Ospreys and Wales prop Duncan Jones has signed a new contract that will keep him at the region until 2013.

The new deal will see the 31-year-old loose-head complete 10 years of service at the Liberty Stadium.

"I've been a part of this organisation since the very start so I'm obviously very pleased to be able to sign a new contract," said Jones.

"It's important to know that I need to be at the top of my game if I want to play every week."

Jones made his Ospreys debut in January 2004 against Toulouse in the Heineken Cup, and he has gone on to rack up 114 appearances so far.

That tally has put him second in the all-time appearance list for the region, behind his fellow loose-head Paul James.

He has also established himself as a regular in the national squad since making his Wales debut against Australia in 2001, with 57 caps to his credit.

"I think it's important that wherever you decide to play your rugby that competition keeps you on your toes or else you will inevitably become complacent," Jones added.

"That certainly won't happen here, if I let my standards slip, I know that there are quality players ready to take my place.

"We're an ambitious group here, we are obviously proud of what we have achieved so far in our short history, but we genuinely believe that there's a lot more to come from us."
