Shane Williams will lead an all-star side out against a world XV at the Millennium Stadium for his testimonial match on 17 May.

The winger's side on the day will be coached by Wales coach Warren Gatland with the opposition skippered by his Ospreys team-mate Justin Marshall.

The game is due to kick-off at 1315 BST and will act as a curtain-raiser to the Konica Minolta Cup final at 1800 BST.

Williams is Wales' top try-scorer having scored 41 tries in 56 games.

The former Ammanford United and Neath player's testimonial season has gotten off to a great start as he has already picked up the Grand Slam and RBS Six Nations player of the tournament with Wales and the EDF Energy Cup with the Ospreys.

"It's been an amazing season, far and away the greatest year in my rugby career," said Williams.

"I reached some personal milestones and have achieved more than I could ever have hoped.

"I would like to thank the Ospreys for granting my testimonial year and the fact that I'm able to put this game on is a really humbling experience for me, especially at the Millennium Stadium."

Line-ups have yet to be confirmed but organisers have hinted both sides will be full of household names from the world of rugby in what is being dubbed "Shane's Game".
