Williams has had elbow problems |
Wales and Ospreys wing Shane Williams will be ready for the August Tests and September's Rugby World Cup after an elbow operation. The Lions star has been experiencing persistent discomfort around the elbow and needed surgeons to release a nerve.
"Shane is currently recuperating from a minor operation," Wales physio Mark Davies told the South Wales Echo.
"But he is due to return to training and a full pre-season conditioning programme in two-to-three weeks."
Davies says that Ospreys and Wales hooker Huw Bennett is "on the road to full fitness", having enjoyed a period of non-contact recovery following a neck injury that kept him off Wales' summer tour to Australia.
Second-row Ian Evans is ready to return to full training with Wales after the serious shoulder injury he suffered with the Ospreys in December.
