Treviso was Day's first Heineken Cup game of the season |
Northampton second row Christian Day says Saints cannot afford to take any team lightly in the Heineken Cup after coming from behind to beat Treviso. Saints won 30-18 on Saturday having trailed 8-13 at half-time against the bottom side in their pool. Day told BBC Radio Northampton: "You can't assume any team is a whipping team, and Treviso showed why they're the Italian champions. "I think players realise the threat Treviso pose more than the fans." He added: "We need to respect the opposition." The 26-year-old has played eight matches this season for the Saints, but the Treviso tie was his first appearance in the Heineken Cup. "If we perform well, we'll get chances," he said. "Juandre Kruger, Courtney Lawes, Ignacio Fernández Lobbe and I are all fit now, and that can only be good for the team, so we're happy."
