Mallinder's side will be cheered on by thousands of Saints fans in Coventry |
Northampton boss Jim Mallinder has insisted the club's returning internationals have given their EDF Energy Cup build-up an added dimension. Saints welcome back Euan Murray, Scott Gray and Dylan Hartley from Six Nations duty ahead of Saturday's semi-final against Cardiff Blues in Coventry. "There's definitely been an extra buzz in training this week," Mallinder told BBC Radio Northampton. "I think we've a good chance but it'll be a massive challenge." "For a big game like this, against one of the best teams in Europe, it's vital you have everyone available. "We're in the fairly fortunate position to get to this stage of the season without too many injuries. | It's great to be involved. "But we'll need to be at our best because they're a Cardiff team with lots of experience and some top international players." Northampton's Irish number eight Roger Wilson said the semi-final had kept all the players focused. He said: "It's great to be involved. Teams can often see their season peter out a bit at this time of year. "So it's good to still be in this competition and have something to play for."
