Newcastle Falcons fly-half Jeremy Manning has signed a two-year contract extension at Kingston Park.

The 25-year-old joined Falcons from Irish province Munster in June 2010 and has made 13 appearances in his debut season on Tyneside.

"I am really happy with life in the north east," said Manning.

"There is a lot of young talent here at the club. This is a fantastic club which is ambitious and moving in the right direction."

Manning has justified the faith of coach Alan Tait, who brought the schoolboy All Black to Tyneside.

"Jeremy has excelled since he joined the club and I'm really pleased he's signed the contract," Tait said.

"He's a good lad and he's settled very well on Tyneside, and with the youngsters coming through, Jeremy is a great asset for the club."
