Bates warns of tough Bath test

Steve Bates is expecting a tough game at Bath

Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates has warned his players that Bath will prove a stern test at the Recreation Ground on Saturday.

The Falcons will be looking for their seventh successive win after a superb run of form, but Bates is taking nothing for granted.

He told BBC Radio Newcastle: "Recent results have been excellent but Bath are a very strong side.

"They've got some fantastic players right throughout the team."

"At home they are a very difficult prospect and if we don't actually play right at the top of our game, we're going to be chasing shadows all afternoon.

"We're aware of the challenge and I think it's going to be a very very tough game.

"However we go there in a very positive mood."
