Newcastle Falcons wing John Rudd has been banned for three weeks after pleading guilty to foul play at a Rugby Football Union hearing on Tuesday.

Rudd, 27, was cited following a tackle on fly-half Glen Jackson in the win over Saracens on 20 February.

The England Saxons wing has made 18 appearances for Newcastle this season, scoring three tries.

He will miss the matches against Sale, Harlequins and Bath and will be eligible to play again from 26 March.
