Talented fly-half Flood is now a fixture in the England squad |
Three England backs have signed new contracts with Newcastle Falcons. Toby Flood has signed a two-year extension to his contract, Mathew Tait has signed for one year while Jamie Noon has agreed a three-year deal.
Falcons director of rugby John Fletcher said: "This is a hugely positive day for the club.
"All three players embody what we stand for here at Newcastle, having come through the academy system and gone on to grace the international stage."
Fly-half Flood, 21, has won six England caps and took over the number 10 shirt midway through the Six Nations when Jonny Wilkinson was injured.
"I had a season left on my current contract anyway, but when the offer came in for a new two-year deal there was only one course of action in my mind," he said.

"Playing in a team with so many top players has helped my development massively, and the style of rugby John Fletcher believes in really allows us to express ourselves." Fellow 21-year-old Tait also featured in the Six Nations for England.
"I'm delighted to have agreed an extra year with the Falcons," said Tait. "The club is really showing its ambition to build a successful future under John Fletcher, and I'm just excited to be a part of it."
Whereas Flood and Tait are just starting out, the 27-year-old Noon is at a different stage of his career.
"This has been the biggest decision of my rugby life," he said.
"There were a number of opportunities to go elsewhere, but the ambition and drive shown by the Falcons as they prepare for next season made me even more determined to stay at the club and help achieve those goals together."
