London Irish prop Faan Rautenbach handed three-week ban

London Irish prop Faan Rautenbach has received a three-week ban for stamping on Munster flanker David Wallace.

Rautenbach, 34, was sin-binned and cited for the incident, which took place during the Exiles' 28-14 Heineken Cup loss to Munster on Saturday.

An independent disciplinary hearing upheld the citing but reduced an initial five-week ban by two weeks because of mitigating factors.

The South African-born front rower will be free to play again from 18 February.

The Heineken Cup tie held no significance for either side on Saturday as neither team could progress to the quarter-final stages, after Toulon had already been confirmed winners of Pool Three.

The Exiles, who have lost 11 of their last 12 matches in all competitions, now return to LV=Cup action when they face Northampton Saints on Sunday.
