Danaher will miss Irish's match against Leicester Tigers |
London Irish flanker Declan Danaher has been given a three-week ban for stamping on an opponent. He was cited for the offence which occurred during the Exiles' Heineken Cup Pool One match against Benetton Treviso in Italy on 19 January.
Danaher, appearing at a European Rugby Cup disciplinary hearing in Dublin, admitted stamping on a Treviso player.
Captain Bob Casey and prop Dan Murphy both escaped bans from the same disciplinary committee.
Casey was cited for stamping and Murphy for deliberately tripping an opponent during the same match.
It was decided that neither offence warranted a red card so no suspensions were imposed.
Danaher's suspension will run from 31 January to 21 February. He has the right to appeal against the punishment.
