Coach Nigel Davies is enjoying the Scarlets' strength in depth
Coach Nigel Davies believes the future looks bright after an inexperienced Scarlets side claimed a 38-15 bonus-point Heineken Cup win at Treviso.
The Scarlets were without a raft of senior players, including injured Lions pair Stephen Jones and Matthew Rees.
But a four-try haul in Italy kept up the Scarlets' bid to top Pool Five.
"It was a superb performance by this team, it's a young team, it's growing and... there's no boundaries to what it can achieve," Davies said.
"People should give real credit to this group of players, they way they've come out and got a bonus-point win.
"This is a real difficult place to come, make no mistake about it. It's great, it's really put us in control in terms of our European campaign.
"Before the game people were saying that a lot of our stars were missing but that's not right, these guys are our stars and they're really putting pressure on the recognised players."
While Treviso scored two tries through a formidable rolling maul, whenever the Italians tried to move the ball wide they invariably found themselves hammered backwards by fierce Welsh tackling.
"It was exceptional, we put a lot of emphasis on that [defence] during the week," Davies said.
"We know we can score 30 points a game, so we focused on that and I thought that was superb, particularly that last period where they had the ball.
"We really wanted to make sure we kept them out and we did that. As much as we've got belief in our attacking game, that will help our belief without the ball."
The Scarlets now have qualification for the quarter-finals in their own hands, as they next face rivals Leicester at home in January and then complete their pool matches with a tricky trip to Perpignan.
