Jones injured himself warming up for the Ospreys game |
Llanelli Scarlets coach Phil Davies says that Stephen Jones' back injury should not keep him out of the New Year's Day derby at Cardiff Blues. "Stephen's been having spasms for a few weeks and pinched it in the warm-up on Tuesday, but it's not serious," he said after the 50-24 loss at the Ospreys.
"We've been managing it. He needs rest and when he gets it he'll be fine."
The Scarlets suffered multiple injuries at the Ospreys, both locks Inoke Afeaki and Scott MacLeod going off early.

Full-back Barry Davies could also be a concern for the Blues, although Davies played down the significance of the blows.
"We think there are just some bumps and bruises and nothing too major, there's a six-day turnaround, which is pretty fair," said Davies, who felt that Jones' pre-match withdrawal had a major influence on the game.
"We played well at times against the Ospreys, but didn't score enough points.
"We're a better team than that and have had plenty of good days this season, but we have to take the result on the chin and move on.
"The fans have had plenty to shout about this year, and they will get plenty more."
