Leinster moved five points clear at the top of the Magners League thanks to a bonus-point win over a second-string Ospreys side at the RDS.

Shane Jennings and Jamie Heaslip tries put the Irish side in control before Shaun Connor went over for the Ospreys.

Leinster's third try from Stephen Keough gave them a 19-8 half-time lead.

Ospreys scrum-half Mike Phillips was sinbinned and minutes later Luke Fitzgerald touched down for Leinster while Ben Lewis drove over late on.

Leinster dominated possession early in the game despite playing against the wind, but a series of handling errors meant they failed to make it count.

The opening try finally came after 25 minutes with Jennings getting the touchdown after a superb drive from a line-out.

Contepomi added the conversion and the Argentinean centre played a key part in the second try four minutes later.

Luke Fitzgerald made the break and an interchange of passes with Contepomi finished with the winger slipping the ball to Heaslip, who drove under the posts for a converted try.

Connor put the Ospreys, who were resting key players ahead of the Heineken Cup clash with Gloucester next week, on the scoreboard with a 33rd minute penalty.

The fly-half produced a clever side-step three minutes later before bursting through a gap in the Leinster defence for a try, which he failed to convert.

Leinster hit back within two minutes, pressing on the Ospreys line before playing it out wide with Contepomi putting Keogh through for another five points.

Contepomi sliced his conversion but the Dublin side were well in control at the break.

The Leinster was again off-target early in the second half with two missed penalty attempts.

An uphill task for the Ospreys was made even harder when Phillips was yellow carded on 47 minutes for standing on an opponent.

Leinster made the extra man count five minutes later when Fitzgerald went over in the corner for the bonus-point clincher after good work from the returning Brian O'Driscoll and Girvan Dempsey.

Contepomi converted from wide with his last kick before being substituted.

The home side remained dominant but they failed to add to their tally and it was the Ospreys who scored the final points.

Lewis drove over from close-range with four minutes left and Connor slotted over the conversion.
