Tait has won 38 caps for England

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill is confident Sale and England centre Mathew Tait's move to Welford Road is as good as done.

Tait, 24, is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury he sustained last month and the Tigers are making sure all is well before the deal is finalised.

Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: "He is very keen to come to us.

"He has had a problem with his shoulder and we are making sure all that is right. But there is a deal to be done."

Cockerill added: "Everything is agreed; we need to make sure some of the detail is where it needs to be."
