Cockerill has intensified Leicester's training after the defeat by Saracens

Leicester Tigers head coach Richard Cockerill has dismissed last weekend's 32-23 home defeat against Saracens in the Premiership as a one-off.

Leicester face Bath in the play-off semi-finals at Welford Road on Sunday.

And Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester his side have learned the lessons from a display which he conceded showed a rare lack of discipline.

"We had a frank and honest discussion and everybody knows exactly where they stand. We must put it right," he said.

"We are disciplined side, we don't give penalties away and don't need to.

"We have only conceded 18 tries all season. That is the best defensive record in the history of the Premiership so we don't need to give silly penalties away because we know we can defend.

"We've addressed that and the the guys know - but it's not as if we do it every week. It's a shame it happened last week but that's life and we need to put it right."

Cockerill said this week's training had been intense following the disappointment of Saturday's home reverse - their first defeat at Welford Road since September 2008.

"There is that little bit of niggle and a little bit of urgency in our training because they know they let themselves down last week," Cockerill said.

"We have worked very hard to get to this point and you don't want to throw it all away by losing a semi-final."
