Vesty is delighted to be back in a Leicester Tigers shirt

Leicester Tigers back Sam Vesty says he will have no problem returning to the fly-half berth against Bath in Saturday's play-off semi-final.

Vesty is expected to take the number 10 jersey after Toby Flood was ruled out for the next six months through injury.

"It's a bit more responsibility, but I've been playing 10 and 12, and they're pretty interchangeable," Vesty told BBC Radio Leicester.

He has been in the squad for all five Tigers finals in the last two seasons.

"It's all well and good having good strike runners, but you have to give them the ball and our combination lets you get more width in the game and get the ball into those channels," he added.

Vesty is a fourth-generation Tiger following in the footsteps of his father Phil, grandfather Bernard and great-grandfather Jack Dickens.

He has comfortably passed all of them in appearances and is highly regarded by the fans who voted him as their player of the season in 2005/6.

Forward Jordan Crane, who slotted the crucial kick at goal in the Heineken Cup semi-final win over Cardiff Blues, told BBC Radio Leicester the Tigers will be fit and raring to go despite their hectic end-of-season schedule.

"I think everyone's tired at this stage of the season," Crane said.

"But - as soon as the semi-final comes around - everyone is running on adrenaline anyway after the first 20 minutes. The boys will be ready to play and fresh to go."
