Leicester Tigers captain Martin Corry says former club and international colleague Martin Johnson is the ideal person to be England's general manager. Former England captain Johnson is expected to get the role next week. Corry, who has also captained England, said: "You just want Johnno at the helm. Coaching or managing, get him in there making the key decisions." "Give him as much responsibility as he can handle and let him get on with the job," added the Leicester number eight. | I'm sure he'd be a part of the squad rather than just being behind a desk |
Corry's club colleague and England lock Ben Kay has also backed Johnson to take England forward. "Johnno was a fantastic leader as captain of England. He will be a fantastic addition to the England set-up, in what capacity? We'll have to wait and see. "I'm sure he'd be a part of the squad rather than just being behind a desk. "Whether he's the guy blowing the whistle and pointing the finger at training, or just directing the coaching group."
