Leicester's All Blacks centre Aaron Mauger says he is still trying to adjust to a new style of play. But Mauger, who joined Tigers after the World Cup, says he understands the need to balance "risk versus reward rugby".
"Back home the conditions suit a fast, free-flowing game," he told BBC Radio Leicester. "That's why we chuck it around a bit more back there.
"There is probably a little bit more percentage play but if it's winning games then that's important too."
He added: "It depends on what your strengths are as a team."

Mauger admits he is still acclimatising to life at Welford Road.
"I'm still finding my feet," he said. "I'm still getting to grips with a lot of things that are done a little differently back in New Zealand."
And he says the constant chopping and changing caused by the hectic fixture list and international call-ups also has an impact.
"It's always good to strike up combinations with the guys around you," he said.
"It helps when you get to learn someone's game and read what they are going to do."
