Loffreda still hopes to progress in Europe (Photo: Getty) |
Leicester Tigers coach Marcelo Loffreda has said his side must be more ruthless after seeing their Heineken Cup hopes suffer a huge blow on Sunday. The 22-11 defeat away to Toulouse - their second defeat in pool six - means the French side top the group and are favourites to reach the quarter-finals.
"They played better," Loffreda told BBC Radio Leicester. "They deserved to win.
"But we should have scored in the second half twice and didn't. We should be more clinical near the goalline."
Tigers are also hindered by the fact they failed to pick up a losing bonus point on Sunday.
Loffreda added: "But this is not finished. We have two more games to play and anything can happen.
"Edinburgh is a strong team and Leinster is a strong tream but we have to try to rebuild our confidence and belief. It's difficult because it doesn't depend on us."
